I’ve wasted a day trying to get the most elementary functions to work in this plugin without successs. I used the latest version of WP and WP eCommerce but cannot get subcategories to show in the sidebar categories widget. I’ve read post after post in the forums that all end in a dead end. Nobody posts a solution. There are hundreds of posts looking for the same solution as me. No solutions. I even paid for the Gold cart hoping it would solve the problem but that was an waste of money – as well as a waste of time. The installation instructions tell you that a new tab will appear called Gold Options if you do the installation right. The information tells you to try deactivating the plugin and then reactivating it if the tab does not appear. After scouring the forums someone enlighten me that there is no longer a tab called Gold Options in the latest version. Why not update the installation instructions ? I don’t like wasting money but I can swallow the loss of 40 USD. Wasting a whole day of my life is worse. I feel so stupid. I was taken in by the flashy website and the write-ups in the reviews. Maybe I am missing something. Anyone else feel the way I do ?

I have hundreds of ebook titles that I want to host using the e-commerce plugin. Is there a way to batch add/upload the books without having to add one by one?

yes they have a new forum, but my post there has almost a month now… but i don’t have any reply, i am the one posting on my own thread… i got help on someone else but not in the forum… i don’t know how long i could stand using this plugin…

Hello. I disagree with the previous commenter – the WP e-Commerce Plugin team work really hard and support lots of people.

I could equally say that I think people like you should spend more time working on your own site then posting your negative thoughts and comments around here

Anyway first of all the WP e-Commerce Plugin has a new website / home. It is all based around providing better support. The forums are tidier and there are lots of video tutorials. And there is heaps more documentation.

If you don’t believe me take a look at the new GetShopped showcase and Consultants page. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (not just empty words) and here are some links to prove it

I found this cart very buggy, the support poor, and google checkout didn’t work. The developers should spend more time fixing such issues, and less patrolling the net to flame critics! In the end I used the shopp cart.

Very nice detailed review.
I agree with you… this WP plug in is not for big online stores.
But it works very well for small ones that i attach to some blogs i run and make sales with drop shippers.

Still i cannot see the ecommerce tab!
