How Can I Help Your E-commerce Business?

Firstly I would like to make an announcement:

Winner Of Blog Design Contest

At the beginning of April I posted a contest for anyone interested in getting a new blog design. I would like to congratulate the winner of this contest: Helen who currently has a food blog at http://grabyourfork.blogspot.com/. I have sent her an email to congratulate her and I am very excited to work with her in designing a new blog.

How Can I Help Your E-commerce Business?

question I have been very encouraged to see thousands of visitors come to read Internet Business Path in the recent months and this blog is continually growing with new articles and reviews about E-commerce.

Last night I was listening to an interview that was podcasted from another blogger on a totally different topic and she gave me the idea to ask what readers wanted. So far, since the inception of this blog I have been writing about topics on setting up an e-commerce business, how to run an e-commerce website and some reviews on different e-commerce software available. It has been great for me to express my views and opinions and also receive comments from others. Though I believe that you (as a reader) would be interested in many different areas of E-commerce and I am more than happy to write about stuff that you want.

So please, feel free to comment below and consider these questions:

1. What specific e-commerce topics would you like to learn about or need help in? (Please ask and I’ll answer it)
2. How can I help you to increase your profits from your e-commerce business?
3. Who are some of the e-commerce and internet business experts you would like to hear from?

Lastly I would love you to write about some of your experiences in e-commerce whether it was good or bad. These comments will help us as a community to create and establish more practical articles to assist you in the current market.

I am very excited to read your comments and I will reply back to them as soon as I can.

Thank you

Tyrone Shum

    Hey Tyrone,

I want to thank you for the post and I think it’s a great idea to get feedback from the readers. I do however apologize as I’m fairly new to blogging/ecom that I won’t have much feedback for you. I can tell you that alot of the material I’ve been reading from your site has definitely helped me with my blog. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

When you do business online, most of the time people don’t know you or your company.

There’s a very serious trust issue when it comes to make purchase online for your potential customers.

It’s important to do everything you can to build a trust image where people can feel confident that if they buy from you, you are going to run away with their money, but instead provide them with what you promised.

In fact, the level of your customer service is of upmost importance and you should always try to over-deliver.

Email follow up regarding the processing of an order is extremely important.

    Email your customer when:

_ They make the purchase, confirm their payment and order details.
_ You start processing their order with expected completion date.
_ You have finished processing their order, telling them when you are shipping it.
_ Once you have shipped the product with expected delivery date.
_ A few days after expecting delivery date to confirm that they indeed received the goods in time and that they meet their expectations.

This may sounds far fetched, but trust me it will makes all the difference between one customer sending you a feedback of how amazing your customer service is and how they are going to recommend your company and order from you again; and someone sending you an email wondering if you got their order and threatening to report your company as Scam.

    Hi Nicolas,

You are absolutely right and not far fetched, because it is how you can build trust with your customer. If I didn’t receive a confirmation of my order, I would be concerned and think it would be a hoax. Furthermore it helps your customer follow up with any issues and can email you if they have problems. Thanks for the feedback and I will be sure to write a post on this.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your question. I commend you for starting a new business and I would recommend taking a look at getting the basic foundations setup first:
    1. Buy a domain name and hosting. I recommend namecheap.com or hostmonster.com
    2. Then have Wordpress installed on your server. Hostmonster has a program called simplescripts that will install this automatically for you.
    3. Hire a graphic designer to create a customised theme for your blog. Place an ad which is free on Elance and I am sure you will some someone within your budget.

I hope this helps. Let me know how you go?

    show me the online profits…

hard work does not necessarily mean long hours, sweat-ed brow or aching back. It simply means working smart…

    Hi,

Thanks for your comment. Yes hard work is part of the equation, but not all of it. Simply working smarter can give you the results because with the Internet in modern society we can leverage our time and money.

    Hi Nathaniel,

Thanks for your comment. I took a look at your website and it looks quite good so far. Though a few things about the design and layout:

    1. I feel swamped with too much blue on the left hand side. (It’s a little overwhelming and everything else gets lost) Perhaps change the buttons to something else – like text links.
    2. I recommend putting the subscribe to newsletter bar on the top right hand corner instead of the left hand bottom. I couldn’t see it before..
    3. Consider putting a bigger line spacing between your words. That way it doesn’t seem squashed.

Hope this helps. Overall you shouldn’t have too many problems with SEO. It will just take time.
