Hi Terry,

Thanks for your comment. In regards to your question, I had a quick look on the new Thesis 1.5 theme and this is compatible with Wordpress 2.7.1 as it says on their website. It's neither a lesser or higher spec. Just to clarify for understanding, you will need Wordpress 2.7.1 installed, then the Thesis 1.5 theme to go on top of it as a skin to run your blog. I have heard some great things with Thesis 1.5 and it's a very simple theme to install allowing you to customise your blog very easily. I would recommend trying out WP-ecommerce plugin for running your shop and it should be able to handle up to 100products. If you are looking to run a fully functional e-commerce store I would recommend trying Magento Commerce. It has a lot more functionality and can be integrated with your blog.

Let me know how you go?

Thanks.

Hi Tyrone,

Thank you for that comparison it has answered many of the questions I had. One thing I would like to know is wordpress 2.7 is this lesser or higher spec than Thesis 1.5. I am looking at using Thesis as this will be the first website and I want something that I can learn to use myself. That said I will be selling non digital non IM products that I have developed myself so I will need a shopping cart but 100 products would more than cover the range for the forseeable future. Can you please advise if thesis is OK for this. I am trying to achieve the functionality of a standard website i.e video, opt in box, etc.. but with the ease of use of wordpress and the SEO of a blog format.
Thanks again and I look forward to your reply.
